Digital Citizenship

Digital media and technology are evolving at a rapid pace, both opening up extraordinary opportunities and posing real risks for young people.  Students are using the power of the internet to explore, learn, connect, and create in ways never before imagined- both in and out of the classroom.  However, issues that emerge from this constant “connected culture” are important to address. It’s our role to educate youth about these risks so that they are fully informed users of technology. To read more, please go to the PARENTS tab above and click on DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP............

Principal for a Day!

Principal for a Day!

Great Kindness Challenge wishes!  Thank you again to the PLUS team for the thoughtful and caring acts of kindness to support student wishes.  Two sixth grade students, Ashley and Letupu, wished to be “Principal for a Day”.  Their wish was granted (for half the day) on Tuesday as they shadowed Saul and I in the morning.  They had the opportunity to tour the district office.  We were able to sit in on part of the weekly Cabinet Meeting in the DOBR where they met all of the superintendents and directors and learned about what they do.

Careers Class

In Careers class, students were taught how to write a business letter. The format was used to write a letter complementing businesses on a product that they normally utilize in their home. As a result of our writing campaign, student Daniel Tovar got a written reply back from Sprouts when he wrote about how much he liked their sushi. The store manager contacted the school and surprised Daniel and his classmates with trays of sushi for them to enjoy.

Thank you Ms. Wendy from Sprouts for treating our students as true consumers.
