Our lives are full of distractions, and opportunities to do something else. Our goal this month is to maintain our focus on what we are doing in the present moment.
Affirmations for "This is it!" :
-I focus my attention on what I am doing right now.
-I know I have the power to choose my attitude-good or bad
-I choose a positive attitude.
-I focus on the present moment.
NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION OR CURRENT STUDENT DATA CONFIRMATION INFORMATION
Oceanside Unified School District (OUSD) is beginning the implementation of optional Online Registration for new students and Online Data Confirmation for currently enrolled students. Our goal is to make this process more convenient for our families and your busy schedules. Your site will provide information to you regarding this optional process.
If you do not have access to a computer or just need assistance in the process, we have scheduled a series of evenings and two Saturdays to provide assistance. If you prefer to complete the process, as you have done in the past, by using the paper packet we can provide that to you as well.
If your student is currently enrolled in OUSD, you will simply need to confirm their registration. If you need assistance doing this, please feel free to join us on one of these dates.
We look forward to assisting you in our transition to the optional Online Registration process.
OUSD Vision Statement 2014-15

Common Core Parent Information
California is one of 45 states nationwide to adopt the new Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in English/Language Arts and mathematics. This shift in teaching has been characterized by some as “the most significant change to classroom instruction since 1998,” when California first adopted its own academic standards. Click the Common Core link above to learn more about the standards and how the Oceanside Unified School District is implementing Common Core in the classroom.
COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPAL
that's Very Important Parents!
Once a month, on the second Wednesday, from 9:00 - 10:30 am, 5 interested parents will have coffee with Mrs. Morgan, and get up close and personal with the amazing work that happens here at Chavez Middle School. This is a great opportunity to visit classrooms, explore our facilities, and most importantly, see what your child experiences every day. For more information and dates, check out our Parents Page.
