School Registration

New students to the District:  Registration Dates: August 9th & 10th  Registration Times: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm!

                                  
 

 

All returning students must go on to the parent portal and data confirm and make any changes. The window for online data confirmation will open on July 25th. You will need to confirm the data confirmation for the 2017-2018 school year. Simply complete the process online, print your 2017-2018 Emergency Card and bring two proof of residency forms such as SDGE, Cable, Water, Trash, Homeowners/Renter's insurance, Lease, or Mortgage statement to registration. Returning students and students coming to us from an Oceanside elementary school may confirm their data by going to your on Aeries Parent Portal. Just a reminder you must fill out a new shared residency form every school year and two proofs residency for the person who is signing the shared residency affidavit. 

 

New students to the district:

Please register at  http://registration.oside.us/. Once you register you will need to create a parent portal in Aeries in order to continue the online process. **You will need to call the school to get the student ID and verification code for Aeries in order to continue with the data confirmation. The enrollment forms from the online registration, Birth Certificate, shot record, 2 proofs of address, and the last semester report card. **Important Please make sure to put a home number when registering your child for the 1st time as a new student because the system will not allow you to continue creating a parent portal account.

 All students are required to data confirm, print and bring the 2017-2018 Emergency Card along with two proofs of residency forms such as SDGE, Cox, City of Oceanside, Renters or Home Owners Insurance, Lease, or Mortgage statement. You will not be permitted to continue with the process unless you have the proper forms. Please bring copies if you have been approved for School of Choice or Inter-district Transfer for the 2017-2018 school year. Shared Residency forms must be filled out every year and  please bring two proofs of the residency forms for the person you are sharing the residence with. The data confirmation window opens July 25th, 2017.

 

* All 7th Grade students must have their TDAP shot prior to the registration date. Your student will not be able to register or attend classes for the 2017-2018 school year without proof.

On Monday, Jan. 30, the Oceanside Unified School District is upgrading to a new Notification System called SchoolMessenger. The new notification system will replace ParentLink. The new system allows schools to contact parents and families in a more efficient and timely manner. The new system also allows parents and families the option of managing how they receive calls and information from their child’s school.

The OUSD Student Wellness Policy focuses on nutrition and physical education.  Click OUSD Wellness to learn more about this policy, healthy eating and exercise.

Foods and beverages sold to students through the district’s child nutrition program, student stores, vending machines and fundraisers meet or exceed state and federal nutrition standards. Nutrition education is provided as a part of the district’s health education program.

The Request Form is below in our NEWS section for you to download and print. School is dismissed at 1:15pm on Mondays and at 2:15pm on Tuesday through Friday. Students may not be checked out of school after 1:00pm on Mondays, and after 2:00pm Tuesday - Friday.

Coffee With Principal

Once a month, on the second Wednesday, from 9:00 - 10:00 am, the principal, Mrs. Morgan, will host 5 interested parents to have coffee with! During the visit, parents will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the amazing work that happens here at Chavez Middle School. This is a great time to visit classrooms, explore our facilities, and most importantly, see what your child experiences every day.
