STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
The Oceanside Unified School District (OUSD) has begun the implementation of optional ONLINE REGISTRATION for new students and ONLINE DATA CONFIRMATION for currently enrolled students. Our goal is to make this process more convenient for our families and your busy schedules. Your site will provide information to you regarding this optional process.
If you do not have access to a computer and you prefer to complete the process, as you have done in the past, by using the paper packets, we can provide that to you as well.
If your student is currently enrolled in OUSD, you will simply need to confirm their registration. If you need assistance doing this, please contact us.
OUSD and e-flyer service Peachjar have come together to help reduce paper usage, costs and time promoting community flyers. Click Chavez Middle School Peachjar to view school-site flyers.
To learn more about Peachjar, visit OUSD Peachjar e-flyers. The OUSD Peachjar program became live as of Wednesday, October 16, 2014.

Who Was Cesar Chavez?
Born near Yuma, Arizona, on March 31, 1927, Cesar Chavez employed nonviolent means to bring attention to the plight of farmworkers, and formed both the National Farm Workers Association, which later became United Farm Workers. As a labor leader, Chavez led marches, called for boycotts and went on several hunger strikes. It is believed that Chavez's hunger strikes contributed to his death on April 23, 1993, in San Luis, Arizona.
“Once social change begins, it cannot be reversed. You cannot uneducate the person who has learned to read. You cannot humiliate the person who feels pride. You cannot oppress the people who are not afraid anymore.” - Cesar Chavez

California is one of 45 states nationwide to adopt the new Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in English/Language Arts and mathematics.
