Welcome to our new PASS mentor!:  Zuzanna Blaz will fill in part-time for the remainder of the year to work with our PASS students.  She will be on campus Tuesdays and Fridays.    

School Community Advisor update!  Valeria Robinson has accepted the position for School Community Advisor.  She will be starting a few days before the break. Lisa Lopez will continue to help us until then. Thank you, Lisa, for being such a resource and asset for our teachers and families!!!!

Welcome to our new 8th gr History teacher!:  Mr. Mathew Liebowitz will be joining the 8th grade team, taking on Cindy’s position. He will be starting on Monday!

On Monday, Jan. 30, the Oceanside Unified School District is upgrading to a new Notification System called SchoolMessenger. The new notification system will replace ParentLink. The new system allows schools to contact parents and families in a more efficient and timely manner. The new system also allows parents and families the option of managing how they receive calls and information from their child’s school.

The OUSD Student Wellness Policy focuses on nutrition and physical education.  Click OUSD Wellness to learn more about this policy, healthy eating and exercise.

Foods and beverages sold to students through the district’s child nutrition program, student stores, vending machines and fundraisers meet or exceed state and federal nutrition standards. Nutrition education is provided as a part of the district’s health education program.

Coffee With Principal

Once a month, on the second Wednesday, from 9:00 - 10:00 am, the principal, Mrs. Morgan, will host 5 interested parents to have coffee with! During the visit, parents will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the amazing work that happens here at Chavez Middle School.  This is a great time to visit classrooms, explore our facilities, and most importantly, see what your child experiences every day. The following dates are scheduled:

Would you like to see your student's name up on our marquee? You can now request to have a birthday message put up on our marquee for everyone to see!! The Request Form is below in our NEWS section for you to download and print. You can drop off your Request Form and the $10 in cash or check, written out to Chavez PTSA at the Administrative Office. If you have any questions, you can contact us at 760-966-4900.
