Mrs. Morgan's Message

We just finished our first six weeks of school, and it is so exciting to see so many students improving their effort, grades and work habits since last year.  Our school and district continues to focus our work on students being able to demonstrate their thinking, verbally and in writing, to show understanding of their learning.  At Chavez, we will further be focusing on students being able to support claims with evidence, using academic vocabulary.  In math, students are explaining their thinking in writing and verbally to their peers.  Many students are keeping evidence of their thinking and learning in interactive notebooks, which hold handouts, notes, and reflections about what they have learned.  We continue to use the Aeries Parent Portal to post grades.  If you are not signed up, please create an account so that you can check your student’s progress and communicate consistently with teachers.
