What is PASS?

PASS (Promoting Achievement & Student Success) is a leadership and mentoring program that equips students to make positive choices in their lives and in their communities.  The Chavez PASS AmeriCorps mentor serves as positive role model and is trained and placed at school sites, providing individual and group mentoring, discussions, tutoring, grades and attendance reviews, community service projects and much more!

Meet our PASS Representative!

Hello Cougar community! My name is Mr. Andrew and I am very excited and honored to be the PASS AmeriCorps mentor for the 2018-2019 school year! I am an Oceanside native who graduated from the University of San Diego in 2017 with a B.A. in International Relations. Throughout my 4 years of undergrad I enjoyed volunteering with organizations that focused on education and youth development. It started as side interest for me, but later grew into a true passion to help students succeed both academically and socially. I have been very fortunate to have had great educational opportunity growing up and my goal is to help expand that for all students, and nothing makes me happier than to be able to do that in the city I proudly grew up in. I am here to act as a mentor, resource, and positive role model for the students of Cesar Chavez Middle School and I am confident that this will be a very successful school year!
